Presentation One: Cloud-First Malware & Ransomware

Abstract: Cloud services have emerged as the preferred attack vector of some of the most dangerous and innovative cloud malware exploits over the past six months. Why? Because many organizations don’t inspect their cloud traffic for malware, and the same cloud service functionality that dramatically increases productivity (sync, share, etc.) also provides malicious actors with the perfect medium for faster delivery of malware payloads to more targets.
Join Solutions Architect Laz Macias from Netskope for a fascinating look at how malicious actors now design malware and ransomware to make best use of popular cloud services to hide in plain sight, and do more damage in less time. This session will include details from recent malware campaigns discovered or documented by Netskope Threat Research Labs, as well as an overview of best practices for defending against cloud-borne threats.

Presentation Speaker & Bio: Clayton Fields, Javelin Networks
Clayton Fields, Director at Javelin Networks, has a background in security services, software, and hardware. The last half of his career has been spent helping clients build or enhance security programs. These efforts include incident response programs, threat hunting, SOC operations, vulnerability management with various tools supporting these efforts to include Carbon Black, Red Cloak, Cylance, Sourcefire, FireEye, and more.
Abstract: Active Directory has been the building block for a vast majority of attacker campaigns. The founders of Javelin Networks are former Red Team and Blue Team members familiar with advanced tradecraft and living off the land techniques. Javelin Networks is providing an Active Directory protection solution to identify the Dark Corners favored by the attacker while enabling the defender to detect credential theft, lateral movement, and topology reconnaissance.
