Newer database structures, including vector databases and graph databases, have emerged as powerful storage and retrieval tools with deep connections to mathematics and algorithms. In this talk, we’ll overview structure, retrieval, and use cases of vector and graph databases before diving into the algorithms that can be used to analyze structures that exist in the databases—including network science algorithms, k-nearest neighbor algorithms, and distance-based matching. This talk includes both slides and hands-on portions.
