Talk: Using flows and scripts to detect beacons
Kevin will present on finding in the use of analytical scripts combined with a custom database that evaluate flow traffic for statistical uniformity over a given period of time. The tools relies on well known characteristics of infected host that persist in the attempt to establish a connection, either to a remote host or set of host over a TCP network connection.

Talk: Key Trends in Removable Device Security
This talk will present key trends in the field of removable storage device security. The presentation will cover: current risk/data loss trends from the latest industry studies, new and emerging threats, regulatory requirements affecting compliance, vendor initiatives to mitigate these risks including hardware, software and operating system developments that improve removable device security, and an evaluation framework for assessing gaps in your organization.
Bio: Dave Duncan
David Duncan is the founder of ENCRYPTX and the Managing Director of the ENCRYPTX Products Group of Imation Enterprises. Mr. Duncan started his career as a Cryptologic Linguist serving with the USAF and the US National Security Agency. Mr. Duncan subsequently designed, implemented and performed validation testing of trusted computer systems for the US Government, including the US Army and US Air Force battlefield command and control systems, and the White House Continuity of Government operations system. Mr. Duncan was also co-author of a Bayesian risk based security assessment model used by US Government Agencies to assess information security risks. Mr. Duncan also served in various engineering and marketing leadership roles with Storage Technology Corporation, OpenDisc Systems and RL Polk prior to founding ENCRYPTX.
