Select a Metro Area

As you already know I am always searching for historic computing devices.  Well last weekend I was able to pick up a working PDP11/73 machine with all of the original orange manuals.  I drove to the panhandle (9 hours each way) to get it from Rick who was a high level government scientist.

The PDP-11/73 was the third generation of the PDP-11 series of 16-bit minicomputers produced by Digital Equipment Corporation. Introduced in 1983 with a clock speed of 15.2 MHz. It has two RL02 hard disks with exchangeable platters.  Each platter holds up to 10 MB.

See the Arpanet image and how many PDP11’s were being used!!
