Our Broward based client is seeking a Software Development Manager responsible for SLDC in a Java environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Software delivery including requirements gathering, designing and coding
  • Unit and integration testing
  • Quality assurance
  • Maintain technical documentation and communicate concepts to team leads
  • Work within a collaborative team of software developers and provide technical group leadership to lead project deliverables
  • Managing a software development team (hiring, mentoring, reviewing)
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Organize design reviews and java code reviews
  • Collaborate with the security team to ensure methods are compliant with security standards
  • Vendor management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience in an Agile software development methodologies (Kanban/Scrum) including Agile software engineering practices (TDD, BDD and XP)
  • Knowledge of OO design and design patterns
  • Experience with version control tools and methods: Git/GitFlow and SVN
  • Proficient with issue tracking software (JIRA)
  • Understanding of reviewing and unit testing code in the Java programming language
  • Experience with Quality Engineering and SDET methods
  • Experience using testing automation frameworks with Selenium
  • Hands-on experience with Web technologies (JS, HTML5, CSS3)
  • Debugging web applications (Firebug, etc.)
  • Experience with SQL databases

Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with Jenkins CI server
  • Experience with binary software repositories (Nexus and/or Artifactory)
  • Windows and Linux/Unix administration
  • Windows IIS and NGINX

The upcoming Summer Youth Internship Program is right around the corner and eager and talented students from across the county are ready to be hired and begin their internship.

Here are a few reminders:

Companies can interview students at the upcoming Parent Information Sessions. If you are interested, please sign-up on Miami.GetMyInterns.org.

The internship dates are June 25, 2018 – July, 30, 2018. Students must complete 150 hours by July 30, 2018 in order to recieve academic credit and payment.

There will be two Internship Provider Information Sessions next month. All internship providers are encouraged to attend.
