Startup Grind coming to Miami

Startup Grind coming to Miami

Jason Ibarra, SherlockTech’s digital marketing expert, has worked to bring a Startup Grind chapter to Miami–the event is planned for 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. May 13 at  The LAB Miami

Aimed at shining a light on the local movement, Startup Grind is in 85 cities in 35 countries, including Silicon Valley, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Singapore, Dubai, Stockholm, Tel Aviv and London.

“My motivation for doing this is to give Miami tech a global spotlight, a megaphone if you will, to get our talent, determination and successes known around the world. Startup Grind is here as a tool to help all of Miami’s techpreneurs,” said Jason.

5/9 – TEDx Boca Raton – Guess Who’s Coming

5/9 – TEDx Boca Raton – Guess Who’s Coming

We’re only 11 days away from #TEDxBocaRaton! We’re thrilled to announce our special guest Mayor Susan Haynie of the City of Boca Raton. Mayor Haynie will be taking the stage and sharing some thoughts and ides about “New Beginnings.”

SherlockTech is proud to announce our sponsorship of TEDx Boca Raton’s “New Beginnings” taking place at the Florida Atlantic University Theater on Friday, May 9th, 2014.

TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, “ideas worth spreading.” The program is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

What you’ll find at every TEDx event:

The content and design of each TEDx event is unique and developed independently, but all TEDx events have several features in common.

  • TED’s celebrated format: A suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances (live, or just TEDTalks videos from TED.com) on a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder — and to provoke conversations that matter
  • TEDTalks videos: A minimum of two pre-recorded talks from the acclaimed TEDTalks video series (these talks are available free on TED.com)
  • Bias-free programming: Lack of any commercial, religious or political agenda

FreshBiz shakes up SherlockTech

FreshBiz shakes up SherlockTech

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you put all your management and staff in the same room and asked them to play Monopoly against each other? If you think it would be like putting Habanero chillies and Wasabi into a blender and garnishing it with dynamite – you’d be right!

Led by Clare Merlo of Merlo Coaching, the management and staff of SherlockTech were locked in the back room of a North Miami Beach restaurant to face off against each other in a few rounds of the thought provoking coaching game FreshBiz.

“As our team continues to grow we are always on the lookout for alternative ‘Team Building’ activities–we chose to book a Game-based workshop led by Clare.” said Alex Funkhouser, President SherlockTech.

“Clare suggested we focus on ‘Entrepreneurial Thinking’ guided by the entertaining FreshBiz board game.”

The FreshBiz game is a great tool for developing and highlighting entrepreneurial thinking.

Clare Merlo focuses on leading game-base workshops and on coaching professionals who want to take more control of their careers.  If you would like to organize an gamification event with Clare for your Company or User Group you can reach her at Clare@MerloCoaching.com | 786-200-2996 | www.MERLOcoaching.com
