New regulations, announced by the U.S. Department of Treasury and Department of Commerce include revisions to Cuba regulations that allow for expanded telecommunications and Internet-based services licenses and for certain U.S. entities and people to establish brick-and-mortars in the communist nation, came into effect yesterday. (Monday, 9/21)

Despite a rocky start – the Cuba opening began almost a year ago in December 2014, when President Barack Obama announced his goal to restore U.S. relations with the country – it’s clear that the process will lead to far greater interaction between the US and Cuba, perhaps even opening up a talent pool that has previously been shut-off to the local economy.
