Working in the project space affords the opportunity to work with many different people. People of different nationality, gender, and culture – including different generations. It is to be expected that different generations generally will have different characteristics – from Baby Boomers leaning towards more formal, informative and structured styles, to the individualistic Gen-X’ers, to Millennials craving instant gratification, collaboration and the need to make an impact. According to the Pew Research Center in 2015, Millennials have surpassed Gen X and now represent the largest constituent in the US workforce.

This presentation aims to explore the influences that shape the characteristics and perspective of Millennials and learn how management style and methodologies can be applied that can motivate and leverage their talents in order to gain a competitive advantage for your projects.

The presentation will cover the following topics:

  • Characteristics of the different generations
  • Embracing different communication styles
  • Motivating the different generations
  • Project Management Methodologies and Management Styles
