VP of IT

Our South Florida based client is hiring a Vice President of Information Technology to replace their retiring VP of IT of the past 10 years.

Compensation:  based on experience, base plus great benefits and bonus.

The VP of IT will lead technology at this well-established, rapidly growing electronics and hardware product development company.  Industries served include Medical, Telecommunications, Defense, and Aerospace. 

In this mission-critical role, you will report to both the President and CFO, and lead the core IT department, as well as provide direction to multiple subsidiary IT departments.

In this role, you will interact with:

  • 10 Top Executives
  • 50+ General Managers
  • Mergers & Acquisitions Team

The VP IT role provides direction and assistance to almost 100 IT professionals:

  • 6 direct reports
  • 30 indirect reports
  • 50 people at subsidiaries

Time allocation of a typical week:

  • 30% of time working with IT Security & Compliance Team
  • 20% of time with Infrastructure Planning & Outages
  • 20% Running 80 projects at any one time
  • 10% of time 30 Budgets per year, approving invoices
  • 10% with regular compliance & auditors
  • 10% of time working with Mergers & Acquisition, Merger Assessments, Infrastructure Assessments, Post Acquisition implementations
  • 10% catching your breath, resting & relaxation (oops, that makes 110%, scratch this last one)

Weekends: Couple of calls & emails over the weekend to validate that something that happened in production is being addressed.


From a technical architectural perspective, you must be able to sit down with a team of infrastructure engineers, support center engineers, security engineers and business analysts to describe a project, listen to solutions, hear them out, push back where needed, and architect a solution to assure security and scalability.

Management of the Engineering & Support team is core priority. There is a great team of technical expertise in house, the systems are running well, overall. 

ITIL expertise is paramount, how to manage changes in production, how changes are approved, recorded, thought through, and successfully implemented.

  • ERP Systems SiteLine, Simex, Dynamics, Quantum, Pentagon, and multiple custom built.  Many subsidiaries have their own custom build ERPs built in various old systems such as Pick, Access & FoxPro.  Those systems may have to be migrated and/or integrated (moving at their speed of business people – support the business, go with the business decisions to make it work).


  • 4 Year Technology Degree minimum
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Management coursework a plus
  • Technical Certifications are a plus

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years as a CIO, VP of IT or IT Director in a heavily regulated global company.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years as a IT Systems and/or Software Engineer.
  • A deep experience level in providing IT services to the manufacturing, electronics and/or aerospace industries.

Systems Engineer

Systems Engineer – Evening Shift

We are looking for a System Engineer to join our team on a full time/perm basis to work evening shift 8pm-4am ESTSunday night through Thursday night. 

We are open to the Systems Engineer working on-site from any of our following locations: Hollywood, FL, Tempe, AZ, Tuscon, AZ, and Fort Worth, TX.

The System Engineer detects, diagnoses, and resolves system related problems on networks, storage, servers and desktop systems.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Proactive monitoring for database, network and server issues to avoid unplanned outages
  • Works with the design, development, implementation, and optimization of messaging systems
  • Responsible for functions as defined in the Infrastructure Support group (ISG) Responsibility Matrix
  • Recommends and installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems
  • Accountable for strictly adhering to all policies, and change management procedures
  • Maintains the integrity and reliability of datacenter environmental conditions and related equipment
  • Evaluates existing systems and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement system changes
  • May run diagnostic tests to ensure systems are operating efficiently
  • Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity
  • Troubleshoots server performance issues, creates and maintains a disaster recovery plan
  • Identifies and resolves database, network and software issues
  • Implement projects that raise the overall reliability, performance and security of HEICO’s Infrastructure and adheres to due date

Developer – SQL – Analyst

SQL Developer Analyst

The SQL Developer specializes in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to provide key insights to the business. This position is responsible for developing process and ETL for ongoing analysis of gaming and non-gaming information, obtained from a variety of sources. 

This position also involves some level of analysis and presentation skill and requires proficiency with analytical tools, knowledge of data analysis methodologies, use of reporting and presentation software, and strong communication skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Write complex queries to perform data analysis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data
  • Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data
  • Troubleshoot and research data anomalies and recommend corrective actions
  • Monitor for timely and accurate completion of data processes and scheduled jobs and troubleshoot as necessary
  • Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • In collaboration with business owners, interpret data and develop recommendations based on findings
  • Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
  • Collaborate with the database and infrastructure teams 
  • Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports
  • Create and present quality dashboards
  • Generate routine and ad-hoc reports
  • Provides timely and accurate progress information to project status reports


  • 3-5 years related experience as SQL Developer or similar position.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience with the T-SQL scripting/programming language, including the ability to develop, test, and debug ad-hoc queries, stored procedures, and data migration scripts.
  • Experience with Microsoft Reporting and BI Tools (SSIS, SSRS, Tableau, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of standard data modeling patterns and practices, e.g. Relational and Dimensional models.
  • Solid understanding of ETL strategies and design, (staging environments, data transformation, change data capture, slowly changing dimensions, etc.), with an eye towards delivering functional and useful solutions in a timely manner. 
  • Strong analysis, coding, testing, documenting and implementation experience in both a development and maintenance environment. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of people, which includes the upper levels of corporate management

IT Director – Micros Systems

IT Director of Hospitality Systems- Micros

The Director of IT, Hospitality Systems will be responsible for the support and evolution of all package and custom Applications in the portfolio, including Property Management, Point of Sale, Dining Management, Reservations and Revenue Management Systems. The Director will be responsible for working with the business leaders to define and prioritize enhancement and project requests for these Applications, and ensure that the work is built and delivered as agreed to, and to establish and manage Service Levels for all the supported applications. Business Analysts and System Analysts, while also leveraging shared Project Management, Quality Assurance and Development resources. They will also provide day to day guidance to key vendor partners. 

Strategic Alignment

  • Develop technology roadmap in alignment with business strategy and goals
  • Review, analyze, and assist with defining business applications and modification requirements to systems
  • Leads evaluation of third party and vendor provided software
  • Prepares key technical inputs for steering committee level and strategic planning sessions and actively participates during these session
  • Provide perspective in the prioritization of projects based on potential revenue / value impact

Project Management and Oversight

  • Lead projects from concept through completion (creating scope, requirements, user scenarios, testing, implementation, and user acceptance)
  • Work with stakeholders to understand project scope, timeline and priority, and recommend solutions to meet organizational goals
  • Lead project management of all Hospitality projects, establishing proper technical and functionality specifications documentation and acting as liaison between development team and/or vendor(s) and stakeholders
  • Manage the scope of changes to projects and business requirements in order to meet project goals and deadlines without affecting other dependent projects
  • Assists project manager on business projects and ensure they deliver timely, expected and accurate results
  • Ensure projects and related tasks and resources meet required deadlines, scope, budget, quality, and other measures of success commitments for projects, maintenance, and enhancements and services availability
  • Leads a team that is responsible for simple or complex applications rollout to single or multi-properties
  • Ensure team develops documentation for users to install, operate and support

  • Manages the enhancement and support activities for all legacy systems

  • Partner with IT teams on supporting systems and network infrastructure
  • Lead resolution, diagnosis, and communication during Sev 1 and Sev 2 situations to ensure delivery and 24/7 uptime of hospitality solutions
  • Vendor Management
  • Maintains strong vendor relationships to keep apprised of new products, versions and releases
  • Vendor and consultants management through detailed communication and holding them to strict deliverables that are on budget and of acceptable quality and standard

General Department & Team Management

  • Directs, manages, coaches and mentors team of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, and Quality Analysts employees and contractors
  • Exercises the authority of a director concerning hiring, performance improvement plans/ reviews, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations
  • Prepares inputs to the budgeting for internal & external resources and expenses


  • B.S. or equivalent degree – Computer/Engineering or Hospitality related preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience IT Application, Product or Portfolio Management required
  • 5+ years developing, deploying or supporting Hospitality Systems
  • Strong understanding of web development, database technologies, CMS platforms, and programming best practices
  • 5+ years’ experience successfully managing, leading and developing a team of technical professionals required
  • Evidence of professional achievement in Hospitality innovation, revenue growth, or cost reduction thru the use of technology
