Requirements (skills, software, education):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing leading and managing software development and engineering teams, preferably in SaaS-based or Higher Education industries.
  • 2+ years of experience in successfully managing and leading Agile teams.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering best practices.
  • Experience managing people to high performance and reaching their potential.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining software.

Senior DevOps Engineer (Remote)

Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Primary goal for this role is a DevOps Engineer with very wide knowledge and experience in infrastructure, and can therefore recommend solutions to the platform/engineering team based on past experiences. Solid foundation in DevOps & engineering, with strongest skills in infrastructure.

Overview:

Oversees and directs the activities of a software DevOps team. Ensures the effective design, implementation and maintenance of the software development infrastructure and systems. Accountable for release management, automation, and systems maintenance.
Provides technical leadership across all areas of the build, software integration testing, release, and operation, to ensure timely delivery of high-quality technical solutions.
Responsible for consistent reporting and providing metrics across software projects. Provides direction on strategic, infrastructure related projects. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up and manage the developer experience for pushing code through the CI pipeline, helping to automate executing test suites, merging branches, and deploying to our various projects.
  • Manage CI and CD tools with team and handle code deployments in all environments
  • Lead efforts in planning, defining, and implementing internal projects and infrastructure to enable product initiatives.
  • Guide automation to deploy across the architecture
  • Work with the software development team to design scalable, robust systems using cloud native architecture principles
  • Work with development and operations to continue to educate and evolve the DevOps best practices to take advantage of new features that may provide a more secure, scalable, and highly available platform for our customers
  • Track performance indicators ranging from Core Web Vitals to DB queries per transaction, failures per request, etc
  • Set up performance targets and identify most impactful projects to improve performance metrics across the existing platform features with SLIs & SLOs

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience developing web-based applications
  • Proficiency in developing cloud services or strong technical skills in cloud infrastructure
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools
  • Understanding of networking and least privilege security
  • Advanced working knowledge of AWS Services (EC2, RDS, SQS, Lambda, etc)
  • Experience debugging applications based on Javascript and PHP
  • Infrastructure as code experience (Ansible, Terraform, etc)
  • Laravel PHP exposure is a big plus

Our client is looking for a remote Security Engineer who will play a key role as part of the Infosec team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the following areas:

•Strong foundational and working knowledge of security best practices and their integration into workflows

•Designing and Implementing modern a security reference architecture

•Working with Dev/Engineering resource to build foundationally secure applications

Responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain internal application security tooling.

• Automate security testing and vulnerability management procedures where reasonable.

• Assist Integration of security into the build/deployment process.

• Promote a proactive approach to addressing the changing threat landscape by recommending and implementing  architectural improvements to security infrastructure.

• Provide expert guidance and recommendations for strategic and tactical security architecture topics through risk advisory services.

• Perform vulnerability research, assessment, and management, serve as a technical security/risk advisor on all new technologies used/developed such as AWS, session management, SSO, Database, WAF, Opensource libraries.

• Support the engineering team by suggesting remediation strategies for reported vulnerabilities.

• Assist developers in remediating vulnerabilities by providing line-by-line guidance.

• Provide training and education to developers on software security best practices in various cloud-based systems.

•Utilize dynamic application vulnerability scanning

• Utilize static application vulnerability scanning ls

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors’ Degree in InfoSec, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Experience with full-stack web development.

• Working knowledge of SQL.

•Complete, deliver and maintain compliance documentation for internal and external users.

• Experience developing and working with Web APIs.

• Experience interpreting results from Static Code Scanning tools.

• Strong knowledge of Security Token Services, Federated Identity Providers, SAML 2.0, OKTA, and other SSO technologies.

• Experience with creating and maintaining Threat Models at scale.

• Experience with securing database platforms.

• Experience in remediating security vulnerabilities beyond OWASP Top 10.

• Experience in performing security assessments on cloud-based multi-tenant Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) applications

• Experience in assessing the security of native and hybrid mobile applications beyond the use of automated tools.

• Functional knowledge of AWS application infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing in PHP/Larvel Framework

• Experience with RDS

• Experience in at least one scripting language (Python/Ruby/Perl/)

• Experience working with SaaS applications preferably in the EdTech or AI/ML Space
