AWS Solution Architect / Sales Engineer

Location: 100% REMOTE / Miami, Florida (Preferred) or South Florida
Role: AWS Solution Architect/Sales Engineer.

The following responsibilities reflect a wide range of Customer Facing skills and Data & Analytics expertise.

Pre-Sales Support:

• Support Sales team in developing and delivering customer presentations related to Data & AI services/solutions that align to our clients’ strategies/objectives
• Lead and present at webinars as a Subject Matter Expert
• Identify current and future customer opportunities by establishing personal rapport with potential and existing customers
• Develop proposals for implementation and design of scalable Data & AI solutions
• Prepare cost estimates by understanding customer requirements, consulting with respective company practices, and partnering with the Sales team
• Maintain knowledge/currency around the Data & AI landscape (products/services/key players)

Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership:

• Understand business process and refine business requirements with stakeholders
• Analyze current state and identify/document gaps between current state and requirements
• Define future state solution architecture
• Meet solution security and availability requirements with architectural designs
• Define future state data architecture/models
• Develop roadmaps and implementation strategy around data science initiatives including recommendation engines, predictive modeling, and machine learning
• Define high level steps/plan/resources to achieve future state
• Complete customer required specs, for requirements, architecture, and design, to garner solution approval across all stakeholders
• Define governance processes to facilitate effective adoption and maintenance of solutions
• Establish best practices to ensure solutions are developed, implemented, and maintained with the best, consistent approach
• Manage team through solution development and delivery
• Communicate with stakeholders around progress and challenges
• Manage issues effectively as they occur during the solution life cycle
• Investigate/resolve complex challenges blocking developer progression
• Maintain a "trusted advisor" role with stakeholders
• Estimate software/service pricing related to solution design
• Experience/Expertise:
• AWS Data platform skillset (Senior) – over 10 years of experience in Data Analytics
• Familiarity with AWS, S3, Redshift, Amazon SageMaker, Lambda, building ETL pipelines
• Experience in designing and developing solutions that cover the end-to-end Data & Analytics value chain: Acquisition, Landing, Storage, Security, Cleansing/Enrichment, Mastering, Integration, Visualization and Advanced Analytics
• Deep expertise with hyper-scale cloud Data & AI platforms and tooling including Azure, AWS or GCP
• Experience in leading large-scale implementation projects
• Data Science and Analytics experience is a plus (Machine Learning, Recommendation Engines, Computer Vision)
• Technical team leadership/management experience
• Understanding of Agile (Scrum)
• Solid knowledge of design patterns, refactoring concepts, unit testing, DevOps, and CI/CD

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or closely related field
• Fluent oral and written English
• Strong customer communication skills
• Ability/desire to stay abreast of latest technology developments
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
• Self-motivated and eager to continue learning
