DeFi (Decentralized Finance) Programming Architecture by Joe Homnick, CPA – Feb 18

DeFi (Decentralized Finance) Programming Architecture by Joe Homnick, CPA – Feb 18

Join GCUG Thursday, February 18, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM EST

DeFi or decentralized finance is a movement that aims at making a new financial system that is open to everyone and does not require trusting intermediaries like banks. To achieve that defi relies heavily on cryptography, blockchain, and smart contracts. Smart contracts are the main building blocks of defi.

Joe takes you on a journey that results in understanding the programming architecture behind the DeFi movement. He will show how Ethereum Smart Contracts form the basis for financial activities of lending, borrowing, derivatives, margin trading, and insurance through the use of Stable coins, Decentralized Exchanges and Oracles.

Attend this in-person and remote meeting to learn how you can be part of this new exciting arena of programmatic free trade that cannot be assimilated by a centralized empire.

The last six months of GCUG in-person and remote meetings have been safe and resounding successes, so we will keep up this format for this meeting. The in-person portion will be limited to 10 attendees in an outdoor Boca/Delray location that allows for social distancing. Safely prepared and packaged food and libations will be provided. Contact [masked] if you would like to join the limited in-person portion of the meeting.

How to Get Funding from the U.S. Gov’t before the April Deadlines – Feb 3

How to Get Funding from the U.S. Gov’t before the April Deadlines – Feb 3

Each year the US government provides over 10 billion dollars in R&D Tax Credits to help businesses fund their product development. Most entrepreneurs don’t know that startups can get up to $250,000 per year as a REFUND CHECK, but the qualification criteria is complicated and the application process is cumbersome.

In this interactive webinar, Lloyd Lobo, Cofounder of Boast.AI (which recently closed a $23 M Series A round), will share everything you need to know about the program and application process. Don’t miss this chance to learn how to secure key funding for your business from someone that knows the process inside and out!

>>> This is a live and interactive online event. To get all updates on the event be sure to RSVP at https://fi.co/startupwebinar/4406

Topics that will be covered at this event include:

  • What qualifies for R&D tax credits?
  • What expenses can you claim?
  • How much money can you get back from the government?
  • What are the filing and documentation requirements?
  • How long will it take to get your refund?
  • What are the risks involved?

This event is run in partnership with Boast.AI

Since 2012, Boast has been helping innovative businesses recover their R&D costs from the government. As entrepreneurs themselves, they know first hand that capital is one of the key requirements for businesses to continue to innovate and grow. The R&D tax credit is the cheapest form of capital you can get as you do not have to pay interest or give up equity. Their software and experts handle your R&D tax credit claims on an ongoing basis to ensure nothing is missed and all the supporting documentation is in place, leading to larger refunds and lower audit risk with less time invested from your team.
