In this Power BI/AI Business Analysis contract, you will work with corporate business users to determine business processes and systems for upgrading and enhancing using the latest Microsoft technologies.  Help this international logistics company maintain and grow its competitive edge through advanced technologies with AI/Copilot:

  • Analyze usage needs of existing systems by collaborating with business users 
  • Formulate new business processes as needed
  • Deliver actionable insights using Power BI, developing and enhancing reports and dashboards

  • Knowledge of SQL is not required, but it is helpful

What You'll Do (First 90 Days and Beyond):

  • Dive into our reporting framework and quickly ramp up on existing dashboards
  • Build and enhance interactive Power BI reports tailored to departmental needs
  • Work closely with stakeholders to define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across logistics and supply chain functions
  • Use Databricks and Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, DW, Data Engineering) to process, transform, and model large datasets
  • Write optimized SQL queries and maintain high-performing data models in Microsoft SQL Server
  • Bridge the gap between business users and technical teams—delivering real, actionable insights that improve operations

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Expertise in Power BI, including advanced DAX for forecasting, calculated fields, and predictive insights
  • Proven hands-on experience with Databricks and Microsoft Fabric tools
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Synapse, Data Factory)
  • Advanced SQL skills for complex data extraction and performance tuning
  • Ability to analyze large, complex datasets and turn them into clear business recommendations
  • Excellent communication skills—you can explain tech to non-tech users with ease
  • 3+ years in business analytics, data reporting, or a related role

Job Description

The PeopleSoft Technical Analyst works within a team environment to provide technical analysis, design, coding, testing, and support of PeopleSoft applications. They partner with business liaisons and other technical teams to cover PeopleSoft HCM  Solutions.
– Provide technical analysis around how we use and should adopt and/or modify various functionalities of assigned applications.
– Perform technical support & incident management leveraging vendor support contracts providing subject-matter expertise on application best practices.
– Create and maintain application specific documentation.
– Provide data analysis including ad-hoc queries for analysis and reporting.
– Create test plans and perform testing on application changes.

The Application Services (APPS) team develops, administers, and delivers quality application services to the University. They work on enterprise and business applications, such as PeopleSoft, ReggieNet, and others.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. Associate's degree from accredited institution or 3 years of hands on work experience leveraging enterprise software solutions
2. One (1) or more years of work experience using enterprise or university software tools for HR, Payroll, Student Information Management, or Finance
3. Experience gathering business requirements, writing use cases, facilitating meetings, documenting notes, creating deliverables, and establishing healthy business relationships
4. Knowledge of Source Control, Defect Management, and Incident Management Software Tools
5. Strong customer service skills along with a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process, and product quality and reliability
6. Strong problem-solving ability
7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to conduct internal and external meetings
8. Ability to work independently and in a team environment with good communication and collaboration skills
9. Ability to work with considerable latitude and independence of action.
10. Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts verbally and in writing to management, technical staff, and customers in terms appropriate for each audience
11. Ability to analyze large amounts of detailed information, quickly understand complex issues, and break information down into smaller, more manageable pieces
12. Understanding of relational database concepts, queries (SQL), and ability to use 1 or more common query/reporting tools (SQL Developer, TOAD, Cognos, SSRS, Crystal Reports)
13. Ability to leverage Microsoft Visio and Excel
14. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
15. Foundation qualification in Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire

Desired Qualifications
1. Bachelor's or more advanced degree in Technical or relatable field from an accredited institution
2. Two (2) or more years' work experience in PeopleSoft Technical Role working with PeopleSoft App Designer, PeopleCode, SQRs, Application Engines, Workflows, Component Interfaces, Data Mover Scripts, Portal in PeopleSoft HCM, Campus Solutions with PeopleTools 8.53 or higher
3. Two (2) or more years' work experience designing, creating, building, testing, troubleshooting PeopleSoft delivered, modified and add on programs
4. Strong project, analysis, and research skills
5. Experience in software testing including creating test plans, creating test cases, test execution, and documenting defects
6. Experience collecting technical requirements and designing appropriate process and/or software solutions
7. Experience in developing and debugging Software
8. Experience in higher education administrative systems
9. Experience in Modeling Techniques: UML (Use Cases, Activity Diagrams, Usability)
