Server Field Application Engineer

Location: Farmington Hills, Michigan

Our client is looking for a Field Application Engineer responsible for implementing solutions and providing post-sales support. The responsibilities would include coordinating with our R&D department to provide software management, automotive security, and virtualization solutions. Primary markets are targeting the automotive, mobile, and IoT industries.

Key responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, troubleshoot installation of our product on customer’s networks
  • Provide high quality technical support via phone, e-mail and on-site to customers
  • Providing support to Redbend’s sales team qualifying new opportunities
  • Manage case tracking, prioritization, and escalations to global support / R&D
  • Develop demonstrations and tools for Redbend’s products on various platforms
  • Handle stressful situations with competing deadlines

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience as an software/infrastructure engineer
  • Experience and knowledge of enterprise IT systems
  • Database experience(SQL)
  • Strong Linux and scripting in Python, Shell, etc…
  • Networking background – configuring and operating
  • A 4-year college degree or more 
  • Ability/desire to travel as needed (20%)
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical topics in English
  • Strong problem solving/debugging capabilities

Pre Sales Engineer

Location Farmington Hills, Michigan

Our client is looking for a Pre-sales Engineer in Detroit to be the expert of products and services (mainly E2E Software Management solution for Mobile / IoT / Automotive) at  a technical level to accompany sales representatives for technical pre-sales in solution proposals and technology demonstration of products & services . Also, to understand customer’s requirements, tailor a solution based on products and services, and create the optimal solution fitting both customer needs and corporate strategy, collaborating with various internal functional teams as Product Management / Solution Management / Project Management / R&D / Technical Support. Up to 20% travel.

Key responsibilities:

  • Evangelize and educate customers for products and services from each component level to E2E solution level
  • Work with customers to elicit and identify their needs and requirements
  • Identify the products in the product portfolio that should be combined to address those needs, as well gaps in the product offering that must be closed to address those needs
  • Work with R&D / Product Management / Project Management to defined the missing features that must be developed to address customer requirements with minimal cost / time
  • Work with the customer and teams through delivery and deployment of the solution

 

Qualifications:

  • 8- 10 years of practical experience in sales engineer / presales in IT software market preferably with a global company
  • B.S. / B.A. degree or equivalent technical training, Computer Science or similar major preferred
  • Strong technical abilities and hands-on technical experience in the following areas:
    • Proven coding level product development / implementation / technical support experience and understanding, especially for embedded software. C / C++ / Java preferred. Python, a plus.
    • Fundamental Computer Science as Algorithms and Data Structure
    • Operating System architecture, both in architecture and practical levels, especially in UNIX / Linux based platforms. Embed / Mobile / Automotive specific OS understanding, a plus.
    • Database Architecture, both in Relational Database and NoSQL Database
    • Network Architecture
  • Excellent documentation / presentation / communication / social networking skills
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries in E2E solution level: Mobile / IoT / Automotive / Embed / Cloud
    • Experience in OMA-DM standard, OTA update, MDM / MAM / EMM, a plus
  • Ability to take sudden global business trips due to job requirements
