SQL Server DBA/Developer

Our client in Palm Beach County is seeing an SQL Server DBA/Developer to perform database design, administration, analysis and troubleshooting for SQL Server Databases.   In addition to performing complex technical, analytical and professional services involving the evaluation of database-driven business application and the support of these solutions. Performs related duties as assigned.

The candidate should be self-disciplined with a desire to meet and exceed high standards of accuracy and quality based on established systems, technologies and guidelines, while efficiently maintaining and enhancing existing organizational systems and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Other duties may be assigned.  

•Supports the implementation, maintenance, and administration of all SQL Servers in production, development, staging, and remote backup locations.
•Designs Architecture of an enterprise-level SQL Server solution.  Provides SQL Server as service or application concepts for better integration of critical systems.
•Participates in projects with developers to provide SQL expertise and ensure consistent, secure coding practices.
•Extract, transform, and load data from various sources (external and internal) into the databases using SQL Server Data Import/Export wizard, SSIS, Jitterbit, DB Amp, Salesforce Data Loader, MS Excel, or other tools.
•Create new Stored Procedures, Views, Triggers, Tables, Functions to support business processes; and analyze and fix bugs and performance issues in same.
•Creates and administers SQL Server Clustering, Log Shipping, Database Mirroring, and Replication as appropriate.
•Proactively identifies potential bottlenecks and potential improvement procedures and steps by using vendor and home created monitoring and alert software and processes to maximize system uptime.
•Respond quickly to Help Desk Incidents that have been elevated to Level 2.
•Refresh as needed, and keep all SDLC environments (DEV, Projects, QA, UAT) fully functional.
•Creates, maintains and test disaster recovery and high availability procedures
•Maintains established databases data modeling standards and procedures.
•Responsible for ensuring latest hot fixes and service packs are tested and rolled out to all production SQL Servers.
•Ensure PCI and PHI compliance at the database layer level for all applications using SQL Server databases.
•Manage database encryption and is responsible for securing all SQL databases.
•Monitors existing SQL jobs and the continuity of backup plans to ensure data is never lost.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math or other science or engineer; at least 4 years of SQL Server Database Administration and Development experience with an enterprise-level infrastructure
