Job Title: Product Owner – Mid Level 

Type: Contract – 1 Year

Location: Miami, FL

$40 – $50 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represents the business or user community and is responsible for working with the user group to determine what features will be configured/built in the Product/Platform. 
  • Ensure that the Product/Platform and related projects fulfills the strategic plan.
  • Acts as a liaison between engineers and the business/user to ensure clear understanding of what features are needed in the product or application.
  • Responsible for the Product/Platform success, ensuring each feature creates value for its customers and end users.
  • Manages and grooms a backlog list of requirements specific to a program/project. Works to identify requirements that make up the backlog list and works cross-functionally in order to prioritize the backlog list for consumption by the engineering team.
  • Develops requirements and constructs user stories focusing on the specific value that is to be driven to the customer. Communicates the requirements to the members of the engineering team to align expectations on what needs to be developed.
  • Integration and Continuos delivery methologies
  • Accepts or rejects the work results and ensures timely and effective delivery of solutions.
  • Works with business service line(s) to determine the overall vision for the developed solution to ensure that the individual requirements represent the total set of requirements for the program/project.
  • Assists the business service line(s) in building programs/products from existing ideas and helps to develop new ideas based on industry experience and contact with customers and prospects.
  • Responsible to constantly promote ideas and directions via substantive, fact-based decisions that can be communicated in a clear, concise and consistent message to stakeholders and application development team members.
  • Employs a variety of techniques such as user observations, problem interviews, competitor analysis, business modelling, product road mapping, personas, user stories, scenarios, design sketches, product demos, user tests, metrics and analytics, and release planning.

  • Assists with other duties within the realm of job responsibilities assigned to meet business needs.
  • Creation of metrics for tracking and reporting progress and status.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to effectively communicate with Executive Sponsors as well as end-users of the product suite.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with experts from various disciplines such as Supply Chain, Operations, Technology, Marketing, Finance and R&D.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and affect change.
  • Ability to think strategically and plan over a 12-24 month time span.
  • Ability to analyze problems and identify resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Use of tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Splunk, Gomez and Microsoft Office.
  • Proven project management skills with ability to multitask and manage multiple medium to large projects in a crossfunctional environment.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology and ceremonies including SCRUM and KANBAN.
  • Self-motivated, goal orientated, quality driven, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Use of User Experience / User Interface (UX/UI) rapid mockup/wire framing techniques to capture and express business intent.
  • Use of Techniques such as user observations, problem interviews, competitor analysis, business modelling, product road mapping, personas, scenarios, design sketches, product demos, user tests, metrics and analytics, and release planning.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or comparable job experience required.
  • No less than five (5) years of progressively related experience.
  • Experience in initiating and implementing business process change.
  • Previous operational experience in well-known global brand is considered ideal as well as a strong fundamental understanding of operational business processes, KPI’s and metrics.
  • Scrum Alliance Certified Product Owner (CPO) or PMI
  • Scaled Agile Framework(SAFe) experience is a plus
