We’ve all seen the Postponed and Canceled messaged plastered across our region’s events calendar in response to COVID-19. We’ve also seen an increasing number of events going virtual with groups and organizations offering remote access to scheduled meetups. While it’s useful, it doesn’t offer valuable one-on-one networking that prevails at most of our local meetups.
In these trying and uncertain times, it’s important to remember that we are all part of a community. We are part of the SoFlo tech community, part of our neighborhood community, part of the human community. Try to do something every day for a member of your community, even if it’s just a few words of encouragement. Check-in by phone or text with someone you haven’t had contact with for some time – they’ll appreciate it. Let’s take care of each other, by kind, and help where we can.
