Our Miami based Fortune 500 firm is looking for a strong J2EE–Analyst–Developer–to work within their Java web development team. This is a lonterm–min 1 year assignment
The Java/J2EE Application Analyst Contractor (AAC) has the responsibility for all aspects for the implementation of assigned projects for software solutions primarily in a Java-based web environment. The AAC is able to work on projects and assignments within either a waterfall or agile software development methodology. The position requires the ability to plan, design, and implement highly complex applications and enterprise level designs. An individual in this position should meet agreed-upon deadlines and perform other duties as assigned.
The AAC is able to design the architecture of highly complex systems, prepare, review and critique high level and detail system designs. An AAC possesses exceptional analytical skills and has the ability to troubleshoot and debug highly complex software code, conduct performance analysis, and suggest potential solutions for highly complex programs and systems. This position also creates cost estimates based on high level requirements.
The AAC may be required to work trouble tickets from our problem management software and complete them within a specified service level. This includes coordinating efforts between business groups, developers, and other IT departments. On call, after hours support may be required.
A candidate for this contract typically has five to seven years experience in application development. The applicant must hold a working knowledge of technologically appropriate tool sets and relevant operating systems. Highly effective oral and written communication, a customer-service orientation, the ability to work in a team environment, accepting guidance, and following directions are paramount to the success of the AAC. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field or the equivalent related technical work experience.
Technical skills should include experience in analysis, design, and construction of highly complex web applications in Unix/Linux environment with J2EE. The contractor should have experience using IoC containers such as Spring, building web services with XML, SOAP, and REST, and using ORM libraries with Hibernate or similar tools. This position requires experience with well known design patterns and application and JVM performance tuning.
The candidate should be familiar MS Project, Visio, Rational ClearCase, and Rational ClearQuest or similar software products. A background in Procurement software and/or Data Warehouse is preferred.
All work MUST be performed onsite at their Miami location.
