Our Miami based client has a key position for a Manager of SQL Data Services.  This person will be responsible for the day to day management and planning of data activities in Information Technology Services.  The position is a senior technical role, with experience and responsibilities specific to managing, optimizing, tuning, and maintaining the company’s enterprise data architecture, data storage, and data management requirements.  This person will function as a catalyst for change and operational improvement through enhanced system capabilities, will consider all enterprise-wide impacts when recommending solutions, and will demonstrate strong business knowledge and understanding of the company’s key operational processes as well as a solid understanding of the company’s technical environments


Responsible for all operational and compliance reports design, development and delivery.
Function as Project Director for all data solutions projects, and will lead the effort to complete these projects,
Technical owner of all data warehouse, data mart,  database structures, and reports/business intelligence processes,
Manages, administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of all databases and periodically manages audits on various permissions to ensure compliance with these policies and procedures. 
Provides leadership in the architecture, implementation and support of an enterprise wide data warehouse and data marts.  Responsibility will entail managing all design aspects with respect to logical and physical layers, schema definition, partitioning, and mirroring.
Functions as a subject matter expert on the SQL Server database environment and supporting infrastructure, and will provide guidance for ensuring the database environment is properly installed, updated, patched, tuned, optimized, archived, clustered, that DTS/SSIS packages are functional, and backups are routinely performed.
Assists Director in supervision of a team of Senior Database Administrators, Database Administrators, Database Reporting Analyst, and Business Data Analyst

Skills and additional requirements:

Minimum of 5 years professional experience, working in the capacity as a Data Architect, Database Manager Senior Database Administrator, Data Specialist, or Project Manager.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems,  or related experience.
Knowledge of database design fundamentals and the use of data modeling tools in a technology environment, where the database size requirements are 1 terabyte or more.
Possess a solid understanding of the relationships of architecture components within the company’s technology infrastructure.
Possess a solid understanding of database management, data architecture, data integration and business intelligence methodologies and tools.
Possess an understanding of application of technology utilized to support multiple and complex business areas.
Project management tools such Microsoft Project, Primavera, and MS Visio is required.
Ability to lead projects requiring interaction with multiple levels of management, technical teams, and end users is required.
Specialized training in Project Management; PMI and/or PMP certification desirable.
Hands-on working knowledge of the System Development Life Cycle (FSDLC) is required.
Proficient and demonstrated capabilities using the following technologies:  SQL Server 2005 and 2008, SQL Cluster, T-SQL, Dimensional Modeling, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, TFS, and SharePoint. Experience designing data warehousing schemas and processes is highly desirable.
Experience working with Facets 4.31 and above data structures is highly desirable.
Experience using case tools, such as ERWIN, SAN Storage, OLTP processing environment, and supporting RAID level configuration is a plus.
Strong communication and analytical skills necessary for independent project work.
