President / Talent Agent
Alex Funkhouser helped create SherlockTalent, opening up international recruitment call centers across the world to help companies around the globe. Funkhouser is a headlining speaker throughout South Florida and has moderated international forums such as the Staffing Industry Executive Forum. His companies have consulted with many top international companies, including local heavy weights Carnival Corp., Office Depot and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. From university to present, Funkhouser has consistently won awards for his entrepreneurial leanings, including “Entrepreneur of the Year, State of Missouri”. He was awarded the “Beauty and the Beast” honor by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for contributions to the community and the foundation.
He serves as Chairman of the STEM Advisory Board of Miami-Dade County Public Schools NAF Academies. Over the past decade, the board has facilitated thousands of high school student internships, funded by millions of dollars in grants.
Mr. Funkhouser earned an International MBA from Nyenrode University, The Netherlands School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Washington University.

A graduate of Lancaster University England, with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics together with a Masters Degree in Semiconductor Technology, Mr. Purkiss invested almost 20 years with IBM rising through the sales ranks to become Branch Manager and later General Business Unit Manager of IBM UK. Subsequent positions included Director of Logica UK, Executive Vice President of Level 8 Systems, and SPSS. Joined MCI with responsibility for the set up and operation of National Strategic Channels. Appointed Chairman of SherlockTalent Staffing in 2005, Director of CarrierHouse in 2008 and a Principal of The Silverlight Group in 2010.
Chief Information Officer
Darren Solanki is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of SherlockTalent. He is responsible for the company-wide use of Information Technology (IT). Sherlock’s IT delivers leading edge recruiting technology solutions and services that enables business strategies for growth and efficiency. He aligns IT alongside the business requirements to help generate increased productivity, consolidation and optimization.
Prior to joining SherlockTalent, Darren was Chief Information Officer (CIO) at Dover Federal Credit Union, CIO at Terrawatu, CIO at Hybrid Financial, CIO & Vice President of Information Technology at Northland Capital Partners (NCP), now Mackie Research Capital. In this role he led both the strategic and tactical support of NCP’s North America and Europe infrastructure components, including Data, Network and Telecommunications, Enterprise Application Support, Client computing and a implementation of an internal Service Desk to support various low-latency, multi-market trading tools such as Fidessa and IRESS.
Before joining NCP, Darren spent almost 3 years at Manulife Financial Corporation holding a position of Manager, Corporate & Reinsurance divisions Information Security, Privacy and Compliance. Darren built security policies and procedures and ran internal IT risk assessments for the corporation. Darren earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Information Technology from University of Bedfordshire, England. He also acts as an technology advisor for a few local charitable organizations in the US.

From the very beginning, David Silverlight has been a thought leader in the advancement of tools and technologies to enhance and accelerate the design and deployment of web applications. His philosophy has always been to bring technologies that he loves to the rest of the world. After all, why should only the die hard computer geeks have all the fun? For technologies as powerful (and downright fun) as WordPress, why not share them with everybody who wants their own amazing websites? Technology and Knowledge is for sharing!

Diana Montoya joined SherlockTalent as an Account Manager in 2016. Diana is responsible for representing Sherlock in Miami and developing long-lasting, trusted relationships with our clients. Diana has dedicated her professional career to helping clients fulfill their needs. She is a graduate of Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Before joining the team, she dedicated her time to the Arts, and represented artists including Romero Britto.

Strategic Account Executive
Bryan Sakolsky is a business development and recruiting professional. He has worked in both Broward and Palm Beach Counties for several years. Bryan is a firm believer in being a trusted partner in building solid relationships with clients, candidates and community leaders to strengthen his abilities to help companies find the best talent and candidates find that perfect job. Bryan has a Bachelors in International Relations from the University of Southern California and a Master’s in Public Management from the University of Maryland – College Park. At USC Bryan played both lacrosse and ice hockey. Prior to his time at Sherlock, Bryan spent time as an Associate Vice President – Financial Advisor at both Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch.
SherlockTalent established itself by creating and sponsoring many of the premiere events in the South Florida technology community. It is a great reward to be part of a team that is recognized for such a valuable contribution to the technology community.
