It’s that scary time of the year again but writing C# for iOS doesn’t have to be. Our own Danny Cabrera will show us all the new features for iOS and the Apple Watch and how we can use Xamarin to use those features in C#. Danny will show us how to use the new multitasking for iPad, deep app searching, enforced security changes and other great functionality. Don’t miss this fun night of C#, iOS, and apps!

And as always we’ll have prizes at the end of the meeting. In addition the O’Reilly e-books and Pluralsight memberships we’ll be giving away a free copy of Resharper from JetBrains!

We will be meeting at the Newman Alumni Center on the campus of the University of Miami. There’s plenty of parking in the Alumni Center parking lot and it’s free. The University of Miami Newman Alumni Center is located at 6200 San Amaro Drive in Coral Gables. More information on how to get to the Newman Alumni Center can be found here: http://www6.miami.edu/alumnicenter/parking-directions/.

And Don’t Miss the After Party…

It’s back. After the meeting we’ll be heading to Friday’s just across the street. This is a great opportunity to interact with the speakers and fellow developers. So plan to stick around and have a bit of fun!

Using Xamarin with iOS 9 and the Apple Watch

Apple has been busy creating some great new features in iOS and the for the new Apple Watch. But how can C# developers harness the power of these new features? Luckily, the Xamarin suite of tools allows us to write C# to target those features and use them to the fullest. Deeper app searching, enforced security changes with App Transport Security, Multitasking for iPad, Contacts and ContactsUI, Handoff and others. We’ll walk through each of these features and show code how to use them.
