June’s event will be about learning and using Docker. We’ll learn about what Docker is. What “Containers” are.
What they CAN do and what they CAN’T. We’ll also learn what are they good for and why you should be learning it.
We’ll have a live coding presentation where we’ll use the app we’ve been building together on Node and we’ll get it working locally on our docker box. All setup from scratch. If we have time, we’ll spend some time showing you how to push it up to production using the “Cloud”. To come prepared, make sure to install docker in your laptop first.

Joe takes you on an easy to understand journey of Blockchain technology. Blockchain is the basis of Cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum, Bitcoin etc., however, extends way beyond these as a framework for Smart Contracts.
Joe is just back from Build 2018 and will have all the latest on Azure BaaS.
Joe will demo the Azure Blockchain App Builder, which empowers organizations to focus on writing smart contracts to enable their business scenarios. Combined with the metadata associated with the smart contract, the App Builder generates an end-to-end Blockchain application.

11th Annual CIO Golf Outing
Join SherlockTalent and SIM South Florida for the June 20th Meeting at Nova South Eastern University where special guest speaker Stuart Kippleman will be presenting- Innovate or Die: Creating a Culture of Innovation.
Innovate or Die: The average lifespan of a company listed in the S&P 500 is now only 15 years. Many companies still don’t get it, and fail to keep up with change or innovation. This change includes business needs, customer expectations and technology as nothing is immune. While just keeping up with change is complicated, its not enough. We must innovate, and balance the needs of all those involved to drive business forward and create a competitive advantage. We will discuss the impact of change, technology trends and pitfalls, how to stay competitive., and ideas to ensure IT drives the business forward.
Stuart Kippelman is the Interim CIO for Biotest Pharmaceuticals, and leading the transformation to a digital business across all company areas. Stuart previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Platform Specialty Products, and Covanta Energy. For his transformational work, Stuart has received numerous prestigious industry recognitions including Top 100 CIO’s in STEM 2015, Computerworld’s 2014 Premier IT Leader Award and the CIO.com Top 100 Award in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
