Broward College has launched an accelerator in downtown Fort Lauderdale that will offer entrepreneurs coursework and education that could lead to funding for their businesses.

The college celebrated the arrival of the program earlier this week and will offer a formal application process three to four months from now, said Don Cook, executive director of marketing and strategic communications. In about 30 days, the accelerator’s website will be up, he added.

In other accelerator news. Florida Atlantic University’s Tech Runway has selected its fourth Venture Vintage class of startup and early-stage companies to participate in its business accelerator program.

This year, five companies will receive a $25,000 non-equity grant, participate in a 16-week intensive boot camp, engage in a rigorous year-long mentoring program with a team of five accomplished business mentors, and will be provided a workspace for one year.
