With so much of our data and applications residing in the cloud, it’s easy to overlook essential data that lives either in our local servers and PCs or in other locations we never consider.

Most in the IT world recognize the need for a backup strategy that embraces the local environment, but many forget that a corporate website, while ostensibly hosted in the ‘cloud’, is not necessarily backed up by the hosting provider.

Many providers have backup mechanisms that while capturing the raw data of your site, do a poor job of making site restoration easy. In addition, a backup stored in your hosting platform could prove useless if you no longer have access to the platform.

To facilitate one-click restoration of a corporate website, it is likely you will need a premium real-time cloud backup service. These services are relatively inexpensive when compared to the cost of loosing your site.
