Introducing the Kendall Innovation Community Hub

Introducing the Kendall Innovation Community Hub

Introducing the Kendall Innovation Community Hub – KICH – pronounced KIK for short. With KICH we finally have a place where we can build community around innovation in the southern portion of the county. Our Community Builder meetings are free, open meetings, where everyone is welcomed and where all are encouraged to participate in the innovation space. There are a number of these organizations in the northern and eastern parts of the county. This will be the first in the southern end. Our focus is enabling and preparing people to pursue new startup businesses in the Kendall area.

Community Builder meetings will take place from 6pm to 9pm every Monday night at the West Kendall StartUP FIU location. The address is 14591 SW 120 ST, Miami, FL 33186. The first KICH Community Builder meeting will take place on February 5th, 2018. The first topic will be Design Thinking. Refreshments will be provided at each Community Builder meeting.

To learn more and see information about subsequent meetings please visit our meetup page.

How can you help?

  • First of all, attend our meetings.
  • Second, spread the word, the more the merrier.

Unilever tells Google, Facebook to clean-up the ‘swamp’

Unilever tells Google, Facebook to clean-up the ‘swamp’

Unilever, the world’s second-biggest marketing spender, is threatening to pull its advertising from digital platforms such as Google and Facebook if they “create division”, foster hate or fail to protect children.

Keith Weed, Unilever’s chief marketing officer, was set to put the technology giants on notice in a speech on Monday to major advertisers, media groups and technology companies at the annual Interactive Advertising Bureau conference.

“As one of the largest advertisers in the world, we cannot have an environment where our consumers don’t trust what they see online,” he plans to say. “We cannot continue to prop up a digital supply chain — one that delivers over a quarter of our advertising to our consumers — which at times is little better than a swamp in terms of its transparency.”

Tesla expands sales of solar gear at Home Depot in critical test

Tesla is planning a major expansion of its solar division at Home Depot, embarking on a critical test of the mainstream appeal of its renewable-energy products.

The tech pioneer, best known for its electric cars, is beginning to roll out Tesla-branded selling spaces at 800 of the retailer’s locations, the company confirmed to Bloomberg News. The areas, which will be outfitted during the first half of this year, are staffed by Tesla employees and can demonstrate its solar panels and Powerwall battery.

Lowe’s — the second-largest U.S. home-improvement chain, after Home Depot — has also been in discussions with Tesla about selling its solar products.
